Confrontation-ish

I was with a friend of mine last night because it was her birthday. As par-usual we spent some time catching up. I’m not quite sure how this conversation got started but it did reveal something surprising, at least it was to me.

She told me about a little “confrontation” she had with another friend of mine via text messages. I guess I expected more from him, my other friend. He’s intelligent and would usually think twice before speaking or he’ll think about the overall scope of the situation, but it was different this time. I was taken aback by his words. As I was read these texts to, I felt disappointed with his lack of consideration and thought. Yes, he was defending his other friends in those messages, he has the right to, but they were never involved nor was there any judgement upon their characters. He simply jumped to the irrational conclusion that there was such judgement. We’ve been friends long enough, but sadly he has yet to understand us. I always thought that he was more mature and understanding of issues than that. Maybe I placed too much on just one person. I still don’t doubt his character, because I see good intentions in what he was trying to do. If there is one thing I know about him; he’s a good friend and will stand up for his friends.
