I made non-traditional onigiri, which is Japanese seasoned rice balls filled with some short of protein. The left one is filled with a spicy tuna filling and the right one is filled with seasoned meat and onions. I made a dozen of each, but only saved two for pictures.

I was on the phone with a friend from Austin while he was eating pad thai. I was craving some so I decided to make it on impulse. Unfortunately, I had to forgo the beansprouts because I didn’t have some on hand, but I’ll definately make it again with the sprouts in next time around. I was lucky enough to have everything else, including tamarind. (If your pad thai doesn’t have tamarind in it, then you don’t have good pad thai. Ha ha.)
