Something I made a while back at my aunt’s house for dinner. Since I can’t go to her house for Sunday like I usually do. I think I’ll pretend to. Darn you finals!

When I have a bad day I like to go into the kitchen to make something random or new. I decided to make cake balls out of red velvet from scratch. I’m still going to make them, but I decided to take a slice just to try. I feel much better now with cake in my stomach.

I made non-traditional onigiri, which is Japanese seasoned rice balls filled with some short of protein. The left one is filled with a spicy tuna filling and the right one is filled with seasoned meat and onions. I made a dozen of each, but only saved two for pictures.

After watching Chef John’s youtube video on this very recipe, I was inspired and decided to make my own broken spaghetti risotto for dinner tonight. I altered his recipe a little bit to fit my own taste and the ingredients I had on hand, but it was still yummy and filling. My brother liked it so I think I’ll make a lemon garlic version next time.

I wanted to show you guys my process. It’s only a quick summary of it though.
