Cooking soothes every ache and pain. The kitchen is like my place of peace. No matter what crap goes on here, I can always find comfort in cooking. Tonight I made pears poached in a pineapple simple syrup reduction served with a slice of pound cake, vanilla ice cream and homemade butterscotch sauce. WHAT WHAT?!

Made crème brûlée today for my friends. It’s been a while since I’ve hung out with everyone. This calls for some crème brûlée for reals.

Dessert at Napa Valley. It was hot outside and the drive there was long and tiring, but the that plate of food was good!

 A little coffee, booze and savoiardi biscuits made a pretty good pick me up.
